I have found that utilizing various regression techniques is
very effective for discovering the underlying cause to many habits and chronic health conditions. I utilize both clinical regression hypnosis and past life
regression techniques for my clients as needed or requested. For most clients, whether he or she has a belief in reincarnation does not seem
to influence the efficacy of the techniques for facilitating self awareness and productive change.
I first became interested in past life regression when I had the privelege
of attending a lecture by Dr. Ian Stevenson, head of the department of psychiatry at the University of Virginia (UV) School of Medicine. Dr. Stevenson had,
for many years, been collecting what he considered to be evidence for the proof on reincarnation in case studies involving young children with explicit, detailed
past life recall. His cases were compelling and presented in a scientifically convincing manner.
More recently, some medical doctors are promoting this powerful, healing therapy. One in particular is Brian Weiss MD. whose book "Many Lives, Many Masters" has become a best seller. You may have seen him interviewed by Dr. Memet Oz on the Oprah show. Another popular author is Michael Newton who wrote "Journey of Souls."
In my practice I have experienced a client releasing a life long phobia, and another learning the cause of her unexplained infertility. I have observed
symptoms of a physical nature clear up, and those of an intense emotional origin be released.
One man in his late twenties, released a lifelong struggle with depression after finding its cause in a past life. As a result this client also experiences
profound peace in his current life. A middle aged, female client discovered how her father's funeral at age eight had initiated a life time pattern of
overeating. With this awareness and some post-hypnotic suggestions to reframe her beliefs about ways to comfort herself, she was able to release her overeating habit
and lose weight for the first time in her adult life!
I always tell people interested in doing a past life regression that it doesn't matter whether you believe in past lives or not.
It could be only imagination, the collective unconscious, or a metaphorical way for the mind to give you answers to the questions you seek. Either way, all my clients
will tell you that the information received is relevant and helpful to the struggles they are experiencing.
